Welcome to FirstWave

The Church at LifePark is serious about the next generation, and one of our strategic values is reaching our students with the life-changing message of Jesus.

FirstWave is the student ministry for 6th-12th grade students. This ministry provides opportunities for students to have fun and learn about God. At LifePark students are given a place to connect with God and other people, grow in their faith, and serve others.

– About FirstWave –

Middle School

The Middle School Ministry at The Church at LifePark is specifically designed for 6th-8th grade students to live life to the full by Knowing Christ, Growing in Relationships and Sharing the Gospel. We do this through three amazing environments designed especially for them: Middle School FirstWave Services, Decipher and Middle School Trips.

Every fall we head to Xtreme weekend at Camp Longridge, and each summer we take week-long mission trip! Both of these events give our students the opportunity to disconnect from the world and encounter God. These trips are always life- changing, life-giving experiences jam-packed with fun, designed to energize their walk with God and accelerate their connection with Christian peers and caring leaders! The Fall 2024 retreat will be September 27-29.

High School

We love high school students and we strive to be a ministry where they can get connected, have a group to call their own, and go deeper in their faith. There are multiple ways students in 9th-12th grade can connect: weekly Sunday services, Wednesday nights, weekend retreats, mission trips and student leadership team.

One of the best ways for high school students to connect is through our Wednesday night small groups. This night starts with student-led worship, a short video to set up the topic and then students break out into smaller groups for discussion. They are separated by gender and led by our incredible adult volunteers. Our goal is to help students learn how to study the Bible and be able to discuss it with each other as they grow in their faith. (During the school year.)

Every summer we take students on a week-long mission trip. However, we believe that doing “missions work” is a way of life for a Christian. We desire to see students who not only know how to serve Jesus away from home but also at home! In fact, we believe it is detrimental to a student’s spiritual growth to only “do missions” when you go on an annual mission trip. Our goal is to see students who serve Jesus everywhere life takes them and we offer plenty of ways to serve right here at LifePark! Summer 2024 our high school students are traveling to the Dominican Republic.

Our Student Leadership Team is made up of juniors and seniors and meets twice a month for intentional discipleship and leadership development. Our student leaders serve the FirstWave ministry in countless ways behind the scenes helping with many practical aspects of student ministry. The main goal of the team is to reach out, welcome, befriend and ensure all students have a friend when they visit FirstWave.
