communications director 

Full-Time (40 hours/week)

The Communications Director at The Church at LifePark will be responsible for providing leadership, vision, and tactical support in the development and implementation of all aspects of communications at LifePark. The goal of the Communications Director role is to support the teaching and discipleship ministries of LifePark by handling all core messaging inside and outside the church with excellence in both content and presentation. Serving as a champion of the vision of LifePark and as a brand advocate, the Communications Director plays a key role in how the vision and culture of LifePark are communicated across different mediums. This person will influence anything people hear or see in person, in print, or digitally. The Communications Director will create, organize, plan and implement effective communications messages and strategies to church and community audiences. The individual will support church and ministry leaders in conveying their vision and communication priorities to appropriate audiences. Successful church communicators are passionate about the church’s vision and care about how it translates to people inside and outside of the church. They are proactive in identifying what needs to be communicated and how to do so, and are always seeking to create channels of communication to connect people to the church and help them take their next steps towards Christ.

The Communications Director is responsible for:
A. Brand Management: Articulate the identity, culture, and vision of LifePark clearly and develop or uphold brand standards to create consistency across all church initiatives and ministries. Empower ministry leaders with branding guidelines, and serve as a brand manager for LifePark to ensure consistency across all channels;

B. Strategic Planning and Systems Development: Assess current communication efforts and then develop and implement an effective and sustainable communications strategy for LifePark that is current and creative; proactively develop communications strategies with and for key ministries; define communication standards, processes and priorities;

C. Content and Collateral Solicitation and Creation: Serve as a content creator (copywriting, graphic design, photography, and videography), project manager, and content coordinator for all print and digital communications and brand-related initiatives. Collaborate with all ministries to maintain consistency across series promotions, service graphics, design projects, and any materials representing LifePark; assist with video production and storytelling as needed;

D. Maintenance of Website and Social Media: Proactively work to ensure that LifePark maintains an effective, current presence online; additionally, build followings and manage ongoing messaging and communication strategies on appropriate/strategic social media outlets as a means to effectively communicate with the community and church family;

E. Internal Communications: Develop and implement effective communication that engages, inspires, encourages and motivates the congregation through use of email campaigns, Sunday morning opportunities, and other applicable channels by soliciting information and stories from church and ministry leaders;

F. External Communications: Develop and implement external communication that welcomes and engages our community and prospective guests through effective use of applicable channels and initiatives;

G. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Develop volunteer teams deemed necessary to accomplish communications goals; enlist, equip and encourage qualified volunteers such as artists, designers, photographers, videographers, and writers to use their gifts for kingdom impact; work with ministry leaders to plan and organize the communications process specific to their ministry needs;

H. Budget Management: Manage the approved budget within approved guidelines, keeping all communication on budget and on time;

I. Other Duties: Work with your supervisor to collaborate on other ministry plans as needed.

The Communications Director reports to the Church Administrator for The Church at LifePark.

· At least 3 years’ leadership experience in Communications
· BA (or similar) degree in a relevant field preferred
· Strategic, critical thinker with excellent problem solving skills
· Strong communicator with ability to cast vision and collaborate with others
· Mature Christ follower who demonstrates a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus
· Highly organized and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
· Thrives in a fast-paced working environment
