ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF CARE 

Full-Time (40 hours/week)

The Associate Pastor for Care will oversee all aspects of the care ministry for The Church at LifePark.

This includes seeking to identify the care needs of the congregation, as well as those in our community, and developing ministries to meet those needs. The Associate Pastor of Care will provide pastoral care to members, attendees, and staff while also recruiting and equipping the saints to do the work of ministry.

The care ministry will be consistent with The Church at Life Park’s mission of living life to the full through knowing Christ, growing in relationships, and sharing the gospel. The Associate Pastor of Care will develop, empower and encourage a care team to effectively minister to one another.

The Associate Pastor of Care reports to the Senior Pastor for The Church at LifePark and oversees the Associate Care Minister.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

a. Strategic Planning: Plan, develop, and implement the vision and strategic initiatives of building a holistic care ministry such as counseling, building a network of care resources, visiting the sick/hospitalized, ministering to shut-ins, overseeing divorce care, grief care, addiction care, recovery groups, etc.

b. Care and Counseling: Provide individual, pre-marital, marital, and family counseling. Provide oversight of funeral logistics while caring for families through times of loss.

c. Oversee and Empower Staff: Develop staff and assign tasks consistent with the vision of the care ministry and the gifts and passions of the staff member.

d. Recruit Volunteers: Recruit, develop, and empower dynamic volunteer leaders and helpers in the ministry. This includes teaching, training, coaching, and disciplining a team of men and women who can minister to those in need.

e. Budget Management: Develop and manage the departmental budget within approved guidelines.

f. Develop Network of Community Care Resources: This includes building relationships with community leaders and care professionals for the purpose of referring those who are in need of continued, ongoing care. This also includes liaisons with Christian counselors.

g. Senior Leadership Team: Serve on the Senior Leadership Team helping shape the vision and ministry of LifePark.

h. Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; teachable spirit; team-player attitude.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in biblical studies.
  • 3+ years of experience in pastoral ministry preferably in care and counseling.
  • Denomination: Southern Baptist preferred or conservative evangelical background.
  • Spiritual Gifts & Passions: administration, discernment and shepherding.
