There is rarely a day that goes by when someone in our family doesn't mention how thankful we are for Firstwave, or how much we love it, or how fun it is. The leaders are so committed to the students, and it shows from the way they cover every aspect and every student in prayer, to having a tremendous amount of opportunities to connect students with other students, to grow in their faith and to serve others. It's an inward, upward, outward approach that WORKS! My kids never want to miss an opportunity to be at any Firstwave event! - Ellen Thorpe
We go crazy for Middle School students!
We're so excited to meet and connect with middle school students all the time and we really enjoy getting them connected in a group that is fun and meaningful. The FirstWave Student Ministry values providing opportunities for middle school students to learn about Christ, grow in their faith, make solid friends, and have a great time. We are big believers that you can have fun and be serious about God too!
Sunday Morning Bible Study & Small Groups - 10:00am OR 11:30am
Bible Study & Small Group time provides students a place to hang out, get a snack, laugh at a skit or game, hear a Bible lesson and be in a small group. Small Groups are the key piece to our Sunday morning time because students are given some time with an Adult Leader that cares and can help them grow in their faith. MS Bible Study meets at 10:00 & 11:30 am in The Pier-Student Ministry Room upstairs, and it is a great time for students!
*Bible Study & Small Groups meet each week, with an occasional Sunday off.
Decipher - Wednesday Nights- 6:45-8:00pm
We are so excited about our Wednesday middle school nights, which are called, Decipher! The doors open for Decipher at 6:15pm with the gym being open for students to hang out and enjoy some free-time and a place to play. At 6:45pm we get started and hit the ground running with games and organized activities, and then we transition into a time Bible devotional time which focuses students on the things that matter most. What's unique about our devotional times is that we split guys and girls up so that they can talk about things that are important to them. This is a great venue for students to invite friends who don't have a church family. Decipher Begins on August 24th and runs until December 14th in the fall. We will take the first Wednesday of every month off and the week of Thanksgiving.
