ASSOCIATE WORSHIP LEADER – FEMALE
Full-Time (40 hours/week)
The Associate Worship Leader (AWL) will function as a worship leader at The Church at LifePark. As a contribution toward the church objective, the Associate Worship Leader will collaborate with the Associate Pastor of Worship (APW) in the growth and development of the worship ministry at LifePark.
The AWL will assist in planning weekly experiences that support the central message of the service, while leading the congregation in corporate worship through music, invitation, and prayer. The primary goal during these worship times will be to lead the congregation into an undeniable experience with God, inviting and teaching people to experience His presence, and fostering a heart of worship in our congregation that is in alignment with scripture and the church’s philosophy of worship. The AWL will work with the APW to develop and position other team members to do so as well.
A combination of leadership, musical, creative, and administrative gifts are vital for this role. This will entail assisting in programming services, recruiting, training, and equipping team members and lay leaders; overseeing music for special events when necessary; providing worship/music support for other ministry areas as needed in accordance with giftedness. This position assists the APW in the day-to-day responsibilities of the worship ministry and helps lead rehearsals, Sunday services and special services along with some administrative duties.
In addition, the Associate Worship Leader is responsible for helping set the spiritual tone for the worship team, leading in authenticity, humility, and excellence.
The Associate Worship Leader is responsible for:
A. Assisting with Strategic Planning Support and Implementation: Work with the APW to implement the vision and strategic initiatives of the worship ministry within the realm of LifePark’s philosophy of worship.
B. Implementing Excellent Worship Experiences and Special Programs: Work with the APW to program and prepare excellent Sunday morning experiences which invites the congregation to engage in worship. This entails leading worship weekly in one of LifePark’s Sunday morning venues while also assisting in the development of the musical aspects of LifePark’s worship ministry, including: song research/selection, leading rehearsals and vocal team training.
C. Overseeing and Empowering Teams: Recruit, train, develop and empower dynamic team members; assist in leading prospective vocalists and musicians through the audition process including the onboarding of new vocalists and band members. Lead in the discipling of female team members.
D. Communication and Scheduling: Assist APW with communication to worship team volunteers regarding scheduling, special services, training, or change of plans in a professional and timely manner.
E. Next Gen Worship Development: Work with the APW to develop the worship experiences in our Next Generation (Kids Park & Noah’s Park) ministry areas. This includes working with Next Generation staff members, children and volunteer teams to implement the philosophy of worship across different age groups in various next gen ministry areas.
F. Administrative & Additional Responsibilities: Coordinate special events (Lord’s Supper, Baptism, fellowships, retreats); become equipped in the basic operation of AVL (audio, video, lighting) systems in both worship venues; maintain online reporting of song copyright requirements (CCLI); complete facility and room requests for worship ministry; prepare and submit spreadsheet of monthly ministry charges and worship contractor payroll; purchase and organize worship supplies for the green rooms.
Education and Skill Requirements:
● Exhibits a growing, vibrant, and mature relationship with Jesus
● Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; team player attitude
● Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years experience in a related field preferred
● Displays a dynamic front-of-house presence (musically, vocally, and verbally)
● Vocal Excellence
● Leads worship from an instrument, desired but not required
● Demonstrates ability to manage and effectively lead paid or volunteer teams
● Proven competency in church or related ministry leadership, balancing music and administration within church culture, context, and relationships
Must be willing to work some evenings, holidays, and Sunday mornings
