PRESCHOOL MINISTRY ASSISTANT

The Preschool Ministry Assistant/Childcare Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of all childcare events for children birth-5K and assisting the Preschool Ministry Director with the implementation of ministry programs for children birth-5K.

Essential Functions:

a. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate childcare workers.
b. Schedule an adequate number of workers for LifeGroups and other church-wide special events, ensuring child-to-staff ratios are maintained.
c. Assist where needed in the implementation and execution of weekly (Sunday Morning) programs and routine special events (Vacation Bible School, Trunk of Treat, etc.)
d. Able to lead a full Sunday morning service hour to include conducting worship/story time, managing volunteers and classrooms, and program schedule.
e. Assist in volunteer recruitment, management, training, encouragement and development.
f. Assist in developing and maintaining child safety and security procedures.
g. Create and maintain a welcoming environment where children feel loved and accepted.
h. Communicate childcare related information to parents and ministry workers.
i. Respond to direction/requests from the Preschool Ministry Director.
j. Other duties as assigned by Director.

The Preschool Ministry Assistant/Childcare Coordinator reports to the Preschool Ministry Director (Noah’s Park).

Qualifications & Essential Characteristics:

  • Demonstrates a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus.
  • Has a passion to connect with adults and children.
  • Shows enthusiasm and high energy in connecting with preschoolers
  • Highly organized.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; team-player attitude.
  • Prior experience with preschoolers preferred, but not required.
