How it all started for The Church at LifePark
More than forty years ago, the people of First Baptist Church Mount Pleasant took a leap of faith and purchased 33 acres of land across town. This land has since been surrounded by rapid commercial and residential development, and now lies in the heart of North Mount Pleasant among Park West, Oakland, Dunes West, Ivey Hall, Charleston National, Carolina Park, Rivertowne, and more. In 2009, the church took another leap of faith and The Church at LifePark was born.
After weeks and months of praying that God would bring enough people to fill our 500-seat worship center, our brand-new facility on George Browder Boulevard opened to the public on March 28, 2010 with more than 700 people in attendance- and we're still growing. We are a group of people who have a heart for the health and wellbeing of all people in our community. We are followers of Jesus Christ and understand that a person's spiritual condition impacts every area of their life.
We recognize that the rapid growth and development of the North Mount Pleasant community has lacked opportunity for people to gather together and share the critical aspects of their faith within their neighborhood communities. At The Church at LifePark, we hope to meet that need.
Here are a few tidbits from others who have found a home at LifePark...
“Life Park is family. I have always been lifted up in the presence of this church. The relationships I have made here have changed my life. I have never walked alone; through both troubled times and great times. I have had so much fun and thank God for it all! I am excited to see others be blessed as I have been (and continue to be)." - Alice Valach
“Our kids enjoy coming to LifePark, we've made good friends here, and Pastor Chad's teachings have helped me grow in my walk with Jesus." - Bobby Krivohlavek
“I've been at LifePark since we started meeting at Lighthouse Church. For me personally, it's the life application sermons that reach deep in my soul that I really appreciate. I know I am here for a purpose and that is to share God with others. Life Groups have helped shape me as a person and have made me more accountable as a Christian, mom, wife, daughter and friend. I have also watched my kids experience transformation as well. And LifePark has played a huge part in creating who they are." - Beverly Horne
"Our experiences as a family at LifePark have been nothing short of amazing. The people at this church have been there to love us, challenge us and encourage us to do more than just fill a row. It truly has been a great experience. Many people, some of whom we don't even know, gave of their time, talents and money to help us through an extremely long adoption process. The people we've had the privilege of getting to know through life groups and men's and women's Bible studies have become family to us. LifePark has really become a great place for us to both serve and be served." - Walter and Melissa Hutchins
“I came to know Christ here at LifePark and was baptized three months later. Eighteen months after that, my husband and son were baptized. And shortly after that, our two daughters were dedicated to the Lord. Moreover, my son, Daniel, is growing stronger in his faith, week by week, because of what he's learning here. This church, and the people of this church, truly have helped (and continue to help) me and my family grow in our faith." - Tatiana Davidson
"Although we've had the opportunity to worship God in nine different countries, this is the first time we've been in a church that has ministered to each of our family members in a way that touches the core of our spiritual lives. From Pastor Chad's leadership and teaching to Paul Coleman's impact on our teenagers to the way the people of this church made our nephews from South America feel welcomed, we've been grateful to God for leading us here. This is the first time we've ever chosen to become formal members of any church and we believe, with deep conviction, that God brought us here to serve." - Lourdes and Bruce Chaplain
“Being at LifePark has made a big difference in our lives. My husband and I both came to know Christ here and were baptized together—which is one of my favorite memories." - Nicole Shoemaker
“LifePark has made a huge difference in each of our lives. John has found a group of men in his Tuesday morning life group who challenge his Christian walk. Renee has flourished in her relationship with God through the Thursday morning women's bible study. Each Sunday, Pastor Chad's sermons speak directly to us. The relationships we've built here are unlike those we've had elsewhere. The church helped love and support us through the trials and tribulations related to our adoption of Jacob in April 2013. And our daughter, Mikayla, accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized here this past summer. Any way you add it up, we feel so blessed to have found LifePark." - John and Renee Eubanks
